The Institut national d'histoire de l'art offers several scholarships to support art history students at the master’s or doctoral level who need to travel to France for research purposes. These scholarships consist of travel expense reimbursements, up to a maximum of 800 euros.


Applications will be evaluated according to the quality of the presentation of the research topic, the justification for a trip to France and finally the degree of preparation for this trip (identification of resources or sources to be consulted and a correctly assessed budget).

 

Application requirements:

 

- to be a PhD or a master's student in art history duly registered in a French or European higher education or research institution in 2019-2020, regardless of nationality.

The application package will include:

- a cover letter addressed to the Directrice du département des études et de la recherche de l'INHA.  The cover letter should include a description of the proposed research project, the reasons for the research (specifying which institutions and collections / archives will be consulted), the duration and the period of stay

- a curriculum vitae

- a letter of support from the primary thesis advisor

- a budget for the proposed research project.

- copy of a student card valid for the year 2019-2020
